Emergency Room Trip

Ou family had quite the scare the other night.  Harper was just napping in her swing and I noticed that she had stopped breathing.  She had turned a dark shade of purple, and was as stiff as a board.  I was doing everything I could to get her to breath, as Alex called 911.  A minute and a half later she began to cry.  We got to spend a few hours in the emergency room that night.  I am so grateful for all the people that called and came don to the emergency that night.  I was such a mess, I don't know if she would be here if I hadn't looked over at her.  I am also grateful for Jeff Kinney, Alan Davis, and brother Webber who rushed to give Harper a blessing, it helped to put my worries to rest.  The doctors informed Alex and I that what happened to Harper is very common in babies under seven months old.  Harper had a case of Acid Reflux.  As adults or children when this happens, we cough, but in young babies their response it to tighten up and close their airway, so they dont get mucis in their lungs.  They said she should have started breathing on her own between 30 and 90 seconds, but I am sure that she was not going to take a breath without my help.  I wish I had known that this was something that happened to babies, it would have helped me stay a little more calm, but not completely.  But I am blessed to still have her today and treasure every smile.  Harper still has more to do on earth.

Our Family Album

Our Family has been busy this last month, starting with our beautiful edition Harper.  She joined our lives bright and early October the 14th, 2007.  She weighed in at a hearty 8 pounds 1 ounce.  Our other joy Addisyn wasn't sure about her new sister, but by the time she came home she couldn't take her eyes off her.  About a week after we brought her home, I was sitting in the living room with the girls, Alex was at school, I turned to do something, not a moment later I heard Harper make a little noise and I turned around to find that Addisyn had taken her out of her carseat clear across the room.
This past Sunday the 11th, we were able to have Harper blessed by her Papa Anderson.  It was beautiful.  We had family present, Shane, Erica, and Lilly, were missed.  I guess they had a good enough excuse, Shane is hard at work, going to School full time in Pullman, in the Pharmacy program.  I am way proud of him.
The only things that are keeping me busy now are writing a million thank you notes for Babyshower gifts, trying to finish up Harper's baby announcement (quite the undertaking), and I decided to coach the Enterprise Dance Team again.  It started two weeks after I had Harper...wow!  I begin my day at 4:45 in the morning, getting myself ready and the baby fed, and then off to practice by 6:15 am.  The only way I survive is knowing that I get a daily nap at 1:30 pm and I have a paycheck waiting for me at the end of the tunnel in 5 more weeks.
